Mod-eez 2065–2066 Sex Bolt Set for 5/8″ (16 mm) Material

The Mod-eez 2065–2066 Sex Bolt Set is a through-panel fastener designed for 5/8″ (16 mm) divider panels. This set pairs an M4 metric shoulder bolt with a matching sex bolt barrel, allowing Mod-eez clip connections on both sides of a shared middle wall or divider panel — at the exact same position, without any hardware offset.

In standard Mod-eez installations, shoulder bolts screw into one face of a panel. But when a divider panel needs connections on both sides at the same height — such as shelves or stretchers on opposite faces — two bolts can’t occupy the same spot. The sex bolt set solves this by passing through the panel as a two-part assembly, providing a shoulder on each face for clip engagement.

Steps

1. Drill a through-hole in the divider panel at the desired connection point.
2. Insert the 2065 shoulder bolt from one side of the panel.
3. Insert the 2066 sex bolt barrel from the opposite side.
4. Thread the bolt and barrel together until both shoulders sit flush against the panel faces.
5. Install Mod-eez clips in the mating components (shelves, stretchers, etc.).
6. Slide components onto the exposed shoulders from each side.

Tips

• For 3/4″ (19 mm) divider panels, use the Mod-eez 2069–2066 Sex Bolt Set instead.
• The through-hole must be precisely positioned — both sides share the same hole.
• Use a drill press or CNC for perpendicular, accurately placed holes.
