Research and Workshop Building – Diemerstein, Germany
In 2022, a 360 m² research and workshop facility was built in Diemerstein, Germany. The project demonstrates how KNAPP connectors streamline the construction of complex timber structures, making them stronger and faster to assemble.
The building features three-hinged frames made of BauBuche glulam beams with synthetic resin-bonded wood nodes. This structural system required connectors that could handle significant loads while ensuring precise alignment.
To achieve this, the project team used a combination of WALCO V60 and RICON 100×40 EA/DA connectors. These solutions enabled:
Efficient assembly – frames and joints were quickly aligned and secured on-site.
High load capacity – ensuring long-term strength and stability.
Clean design – connectors remain hidden, allowing the timber architecture to stand out.
The result is a bright, open-span interior ideal for workshops, research, and collaborative use. This project illustrates how KNAPP connectors simplify timber construction, even in advanced academic and institutional projects.
