GIGANT 120 x 40 Heavy Timber Beam Hanger

The GIGANT 120 x 40 is a concealed heavy timber beam hanger engineered for high-strength structural connections in timber framing, log buildings, and mass timber applications. The connector consists of two identical steel brackets that interlock in a dovetail-like motion, allowing the secondary beam to slide into place with immediate load transfer.

One bracket is recessed into the primary timber member, while the matching bracket mounts directly to the secondary beam using KNAPP SK screws. The short hooking path accelerates installation, and the self-tensioning connector geometry maintains long-term joint compression. Installation can be fully concealed or visible depending on project requirements.

Material and Installation Requirements:

• End-grain attachment: SK screws 10 x 120 mm

• Side-grain attachment: SK screws 10 x 80 mm

1. Cut the recess using CNC or the KNAPP MULTI F 40 routing jig.

2. Pre-drill screw holes using CNC or the GIGANT drilling jig.

3. Install both brackets with the specified KNAPP SK screws.

4. Slide and hook the beams together until fully engaged.

5. Connection becomes load-bearing immediately.
