MEGANT 550 x 150 x 50 – Heavy Duty Beam Hanger

The MEGANT 550 x 150 x 50 is a pre engineered, ultra high capacity beam hanger system designed for large-scale mass timber post and beam and girder connections. Precision machined from aluminum, the system uses two connector plates and a heavy duty pair of interlocking clamping jaws that automatically lock the connection as soon as the beam is engaged.

Installation is possible from any direction — top, bottom, or either side — with only 19 mm of insertion travel required. The MEGANT system compensates up to 3 mm of installation tolerance and supports fully concealed installation for enhanced fire protection. Its engineered geometry delivers repeatable installation quality in both shop prefabrication and on site construction.

MEGANT connectors are suitable for structural timber to timber, timber to steel, and timber to concrete interfaces and are approved under ETA 15/0667.

• 80 pcs fully threaded 8 × 160 mm screws installed at 45° per ETA

Material

• High strength aluminum alloy AW 6082 components

• Threaded rod assemblies per ETA specifications

• CNC or rout the required recess for concealed installation, or mount plates flush for visible mounting.

• Pre drill angled (45°) and perpendicular screw holes using a MEGANT drilling jig for accurate alignment.

• Install both connector plates using the required fully threaded screws.

• Insert and tighten the clamping jaws and all threaded rods until fully seated.

• Slide the beam into position — only 19 mm of travel is needed for full engagement.

• Once tightened, the connection becomes immediately load bearing.
