The RICON DA 40 x 140 VM78 Beam Hanger is a concealed double connection system used to join two beams to a single post. The design integrates through-post compound nuts that ensure alignment and eliminate screw interference between intersecting members.

This version features the longer 78 mm compound nuts, making it suitable for 80 mm post sections or applications that require deeper fastening. The 140 mm plates provide strong load transfer for slender beam profiles while maintaining a completely hidden connection. The VM78 version is ideal for precision timber structures that demand secure assembly, repeatable installation, and clean architectural finishes.

• Cut the recess in the end grain of each beam using the provided template.

• Mount the connector plates using SK-screws (5×80 mm, 5×50 mm, and 8×80 mm).

• Drill through the post and insert the M8 10×78 mm compound nuts.

• Fasten the opposing plates with M8x25 SK-screws.

• Align and slide the beams together until the plates interlock.

• Secure the joint with the supplied locking brackets.

• Inspect alignment and perform final tightening before completion.
