RICON EA 40 x 140 Beam Hanger Set

The RICON EA 40 x 140 Beam Hanger Set is a pre-engineered concealed single connection system designed for simple and fast beam assembly. It provides a strong, flush-mounted joint suitable for structural timber and hybrid applications, including glulam, LVL, BauBuche, and hardwoods.

Each connector consists of two identical steel plates that interlock in a dovetail-like fashion. One plate is typically recessed into the end grain of the beam, while the other mounts flush to the adjoining member. When the plates engage, the joint self-aligns, delivering a secure, gap-free connection.

The system can be installed fully concealed or visible, making it ideal for both structural and architectural applications. KNAPP offers dedicated drilling and routing jigs to ensure accurate preparation. Installation uses self-tapping screws with integrated stops for precise depth control. An optional locking clip can be fitted to secure the connection, and removed later if disassembly is required.

1. Mill the recess into the end grain of the beam using the supplied template.

2. Mount one connector plate using SK-screws (5×50 mm, 5×80 mm, 8×50 mm, and 8×80 mm).

3. Attach the opposite plate to the post, wall, or supporting member.

4. Align the beam and slide the plates together until interlocked.

5. Secure with the included locking clip if required.

6. Verify alignment and tighten all fasteners to specification.
