RICON S 80 x 290 – Beam Hanger w/ Screwed Collar Bolt

The RICON S 80 x 290 VK is a pre engineered galvanized steel beam connector designed for high capacity main and secondary beam joints in mass timber and heavy timber construction. It consists of two identical connector plates that engage in a dovetail like motion with only 35 mm of travel required. The VK version uses a screwed collar bolt, providing dependable mechanical engagement and a cost efficient alternative to the welded VS type.

The connector installs with self tapping CS screws driven perpendicular to the plate and can be mounted either fully concealed in a routed recess or visibly on the beam surface. Suitable for timber to timber, timber to steel, and timber to concrete applications, the RICON S VK series is widely used in glulam, CLT, post and beam, and hybrid timber structures.

Material

• Galvanized steel connector plates

• Structural CS screws driven perpendicular to the plate

• Rout the housing using CNC or a compatible routing jig for concealed installation, or mount the connector on the surface if visible installation is preferred.

• Drill positioning holes according to the drilling template.

• Install the screwed collar bolt in the main member.

• Fasten connector plates with the specified 10 x 100 mm and 10 x 200 mm screws.

• Slide the secondary beam into place until fully engaged. The connection is load bearing immediately.
