RICON S 80 x 290 – Beam Hanger w/ Welded Collar Bolt

The RICON S 80 x 290 VS is a high-capacity mass timber beam hanger engineered for long-span and heavy structural connections. It consists of two identical galvanized steel plates that interlock through a dovetail-style engagement, requiring only 35 mm of travel to fully seat. The welded collar bolt (VS version) provides the highest load capacity available in the RICON S product family.

Designed for post-to-beam and beam-to-beam connections in mass timber construction, the RICON S 80 x 290 VS installs with structural screws driven perpendicular to the plate, without the need for pre-drilling. It is approved under ICC ESR-4300 for North American mass timber applications and is suitable for hardwoods, softwoods, steel interfaces, and hybrid timber-to-concrete support conditions.

This connector supports concealed installation for fire-rated assemblies and works effectively in prefabrication workflows for glulam, CLT, and engineered heavy timber systems.

1. Cut recess with CNC or with the MULTI F 40 routing jig for concealed installation.

2. Position connector plates and install required SK/CS screws perpendicular to the plate.

3. Align welded collar bolt with receiving plate and slide connector together using the 35 mm travel distance.

4. Install optional locking clip to secure against pull-out direction.

5. Connection is immediately load-bearing once fully engaged.
