CLIPS – Biscuit Connector

The CLIPS biscuit connector is a #20 two-piece, snap-in plastic connector designed for quick and concealed assembly in all wood and board materials. The ribbed pin snaps securely into the fork, allowing easy installation while maintaining a clean, professional finish.

One of its unique advantages is adjustability: the ribbed pin can rotate 360° around its axis, making it possible to fine-tune positioning. The CLIPS can also function as a hinge, making it ideal for applications such as access panels, filler panels, false fronts, and louvered vents. This flexibility makes it a popular choice for ready-to-assemble (RTA) and knock-down (KD) furniture, as well as millwork and shopfitting projects.

Steps

1. Cut the slot using a standard #20 biscuit joiner. The groove dimensions should match the connector body (approx. 10 mm deep × 4 mm wide).

2. Apply adhesive (KNAPP PU+) to the groove. Moisten dry wood slightly before gluing to improve bonding.

3. Insert both halves of the CLIPS connector into the pre-cut slot, ensuring mirrored alignment.

4. Allow adhesive to cure for approximately 60 minutes.

5. Assemble parts by snapping the ribbed pin into the fork half until securely locked.

Tips

• Ensure the connector halves are flush with the surface before curing.

• The ribbed pin allows minor adjustments after insertion.

• For access panels or louvers, test fit prior to applying adhesive for best alignment.

• The connection can be glued permanently or left dry for removable applications.
