Cafehaus Fischer – Coffee Shop, Germany

The Cafehaus Fischer coffee shop demonstrates how modern timber construction and MEGANT connectors can be used to create unique architectural spaces with structural efficiency. Built in 2015, the project combined craftsmanship with advanced connector technology to deliver both aesthetics and durability.
The project was led by Bäckerei & Konditorei Dirk Fischer, with architectural design by Architekturbüro Gerd Schwab. Timber construction was carried out by Ing. Holzleimbau Wiedmann GmbH & Co. KG and Zimmerei Holzbau Fehrenbach, with structural engineering provided by Ingenieurbüro Sättele.
Key highlights:
Connector technology: MEGANT connectors enabled secure and invisible load-bearing joints for the curved timber structure.
Architectural design: The project featured a circular beam arrangement, showcasing the flexibility of timber construction for creative geometries.
Construction efficiency: Prefabricated timber elements with integrated MEGANT connectors allowed for quick on-site assembly.
Durability: Engineered timber combined with high-load capacity connectors ensures long-lasting performance under daily commercial use.
This project highlights how MEGANT connectors support both the functional demands of commercial buildings and the architectural ambition of modern timber design.
