Generationenhaus – Starnberg, Germany

The Generationenhaus in Starnberg, Germany demonstrates how engineered timber and precision connector technology can support multi-family residential construction. Built by the Weinhart family with architectural and engineering support from Regnauer Hausbau GmbH & Co. KG, the project was completed in just 5 months.
Key highlights:
Connector technology: KNAPP’s MEGANT connectors were used to create secure post-and-beam joints capable of withstanding loads of up to 82 kN, ensuring long-term stability.
Construction method: Post-and-beam timber construction delivered flexibility in design and allowed for large open living spaces.
Building volume: The project achieved a total gross building volume of approximately 1,770 m³.
Efficient build time: The home was constructed within a short timeframe, balancing speed with high structural quality.
This residential project illustrates how MEGANT connectors bring strength, efficiency, and reliability to timber frame housing.
