DUO System 46 x 30 – Concealed Furniture & Stair Frame Connector

The DUO 46×30 is a strong, versatile connector in the DUO-System, designed for medium-duty frame joints where higher holding power is needed. Like all DUO connectors, it offers a non-visible, self-tightening connection that is fast to assemble and allows for disassembly when required.

With a tested load value of 1.30 kN (transverse force, insertion direction), the DUO 46×30 delivers reliable strength for applications such as bed rails, stair stringers, and mid-size furniture frames.

Steps

1. Cut the mortise with a 2-Flute Straight Router Bit (13/32″) paired with a Router Bushing (1″ OD) and the MULTI F Routing Jig.
   Note: Choose the Routing Jig size specific to the DUO 46×30. Optionally, use the Router Base Plate Adapter to hold the Router Bushing (1″ OD).

2. Align the MULTI F Routing Jig and cut a mortise 13 mm deep into the end-grain or face of the timber. Mortise width is preset; mortise length is matched to connector size.

3. Place one DUO 46×30 plate into the mortise and use it as a template to predrill screw holes.

4. Secure the first connector plate with the provided screws.

5. Position the second plate, inserting pan head screws until snug to ensure proper depth.

6. Install the second plate with the screws provided.

7. Assemble the workpieces by tapping them together with a rubber mallet.

Tips

• The dovetail-like snap action keeps joints consistently tight.

• The connector can be adjusted or re-tightened to accommodate seasonal wood movement.
