CHICO – Slide in Connector

The CHICO is a precision-engineered slide-in connector made of aluminum die-cast zinc, designed for secure assembly across a wide range of materials. In addition to wood, it is suitable for Corian®, Marlan®, and similar composites, making it versatile for both woodworking and specialty applications.

The two connector halves are screwed into a routed groove (50 × 12 × 10 mm) and joined by sliding them together. The integrated stop ensures assembly and disconnection in one direction. Once engaged, the joint tightens automatically and becomes immediately load-bearing.

Compact yet strong, CHICO is ideal where both safety and flexibility are required — such as heavy furniture, architectural millwork, and trade show booths where easy disassembly and reassembly are essential.

Steps

1. Route a groove 50 × 12 × 10 mm in both components (spindle molder, router, or CNC).

2. Insert each connector half into its groove and secure with two CS-screws Ø 4.5 mm.

3. Slide the two halves into each other until they lock.

4. Tap gently with a rubber mallet if needed to ensure full seating.

Tips

• The integrated stop ensures correct assembly and prevents over-sliding.

• Works equally well in solid surface materials like Corian® as in wood.

• For disassembly, slide components apart in the same direction.
