BASIS 62 x 62 Concealed Post Connector – Column Mounting System

The BASIS 62 x 62 System is a concealed column mounting connector designed for the direct attachment of timber columns and uprights to solid substrates such as concrete, stone, or masonry. As an extension of the ACRO connector system, BASIS combines a factory assembled ACRO connector with a galvanized steel base plate, allowing timber elements to be securely anchored while maintaining a clean architectural finish.

The system enables a force fit, self tensioning connection where the base mounted connector is fixed to the solid surface and the matching connector component is installed in the timber column. Once engaged, the connection provides a durable and nearly invisible attachment, with only a narrow insertion slot visible at the joint.

BASIS 62 x 62 is ideal for prefabricated and site assembled timber structures where precision, adjustability, and visual cleanliness are required. The system is not intended for freestanding columns but is optimized for supported column and post applications.

Notes

• Rout a 13 mm deep recess into the timber column using a Ø 15 mm slot cutter.

• Secure the BASIS base plate to the solid substrate using appropriate anchors.

• Install the connector components into the routed housing in the timber.

• Insert the column onto the base mounted connector.

• Adjust screw tension to achieve the desired clamping pressure.
