SILVER Biscuit Connector

The SILVER biscuit connector is a #20 self-tightening, non-visible slide-in connector made of aluminum die-cast alloy. Designed for use in all wood materials, it is especially well-suited for solid wood (hardwoods).

The two identical halves are knocked into a standard #20 biscuit slot with a hammer, where patented cutting edges lock the connector in place without glue. Simply slide the halves together to assemble. For additional reinforcement, a few drops of KNAPP Adhesive PU+ can be applied during installation.

Strong and immediately load-bearing, the SILVER connector allows components to be transported flat-packed and quickly assembled on site. Optional locking tabs can latch the joint in one or both directions, providing exceptional stability while still allowing for disassembly if needed.

• Installation: Cut a #20 biscuit slot (12.5 mm depth), insert connector diagonally into the groove, and knock into place (glue optional)

1. Cut a #20 biscuit slot using a biscuit joiner or CNC.

2. If locking tabs are required, use a hammer and the tip of another connector half to bend the tab(s) into place (see Instruction Manual for details).

3. Position the connector tip at one end of the slot at an angle matching the radius of the cut.

4. Press into the groove, ensuring the connector halves are mirrored.

5. Knock the SILVER connector into the slot with a hammer, sliding it along the radius so the patented cutting edges lock into the material.

6. Confirm that the connectors at the outer ends are flush with the component surface.

7. To assemble, insert the parts and then slide them together until fully engaged.

Tips

• For added strength, apply a few drops of KNAPP®-Adhesive PU+ (Z011/1) when inserting the connector.

• For permanent assembly, glue the joint before connecting components.

• Depending on material, pressing pressure is approximately 80 kg per connector.
