Balcony Railing Install with Zipbolt Slipfix Railbolt
Instructions
Steps
-
Mark and Drill the Rail
-
Use the Railbolt Drill Guide to mark the center.
-
Bore a 25 mm (1 in) hole first, then a 10 mm (3/8 in) hole.
-
Insert the Slipfix connector into the rail and verify smooth travel from left to right.
-
-
Prepare the Newel Post
-
Measure 28 mm (1-1/8 in) upward from the bottom of the rail position to mark the keyhole disc centerline.
-
Bore a 25 mm (1 in) hole to a depth of 7 mm (9/32 in).
-
Install the keyhole disc flush or slightly recessed into the post using pilot holes and screws.
-
-
Insert and Engage the Railbolt
-
With the Slipfix Railbolt pre-installed, align the rail between the fixed posts.
-
Insert the connector tips into both keyhole discs and push the handrail downward until seated.
-
-
Tighten the Connection
-
Using a 5 mm hex bit, tighten the gear housing by hand or with a low-torque drill.
-
Do not use an impact driver to avoid over-tightening or damaging the housing.
-
-
Finish and Plug
-
Plug the access hole and sand flush for a smooth finish.

Confirm alignment and ensure a secure connection between rail and posts.
