The 12.500 Zipbolt UT Maxi-KD Connector is a heavy-duty demountable connector designed for efficient bed, table, and joinery assembly. Its large 35 mm (1 ½ in) gear housing distributes pressure evenly across the material, creating a stable and durable joint. Combined with an 8 mm screw shaft, the Maxi-KD provides a secure connection suitable for both small workshops and industrial production.

Engineered for quick and precise assembly, it can be used alongside dowels and adhesives to assemble multiple components simultaneously, eliminating long curing times and improving overall production efficiency.

Key Features

Instructions

Steps

  1. Prepare the Components

    • Align all components such as bed rails, table legs, or joinery parts.

    • Pre-drill three boreholes according to the connector’s installation dimensions.

  2. Insert the Gear Drive

    • Fit the 35 mm gear drive into the pre-drilled borehole of one component.

    • Ensure the housing sits flush with the surface.

  3. Install the Threaded Rod

    • Insert the threaded rod into the corresponding borehole of the opposing component.

    • Thread the rod into the gear drive and tighten slightly by hand.

  4. Insert the Rampa Fitting

    • Place the Rampa insert into its designated borehole on the second component.

    • This fitting anchors the threaded rod for maximum strength.

  5. Final Assembly

    • Using a 5 mm hex bit or Allen key, tighten the threaded rod into the Rampa insert until secure.

    • Ensure components are aligned and flush.

  6. Check Alignment

    • Verify the connection is tight and stable. Adjust as needed to ensure proper fit and symmetry.

Tips

  • Avoid using an impact driver to protect the gear mechanism.

  • Use with dowels and adhesive when additional alignment or bonding strength is needed.

  • Ideal for production setups requiring simultaneous component assembly.
