RICON S 80 x 200 – Beam Hanger w/ Welded Collar Bolt

The RICON S 80 x 200 VS is a high-capacity mass timber beam hanger engineered for structural post-to-beam and beam-to-beam connections. Each connector consists of two identical galvanized plates that interlock through a dovetail-style engagement requiring only 35 mm of travel. This short hooking distance supports fast and consistent assembly on site or in prefabrication environments.

The VS model uses a welded collar bolt, providing the highest load capacity within the RICON S series. It is fully approved under ICC ESR-4300 for mass timber applications in North America and installs using structural screws driven perpendicular to the plate without pre-drilling. The connector can be installed fully concealed in a routed recess or visibly on the surface.

The RICON S 80 x 200 VS is suitable for softwoods and hardwoods, steel-to-timber interfaces, and concrete bearing connections. It supports high-demand mass timber assemblies including glulam, CLT, and engineered heavy timber framing.

1. Mill the recess using CNC or the MULTI F 40 routing jig for concealed installations.

2. Position the connector plates and install the SK screws perpendicular to the plate.

3. Align the welded collar bolt with the receiving bracket.

4. Slide and hook the beams together until fully engaged.

5. Install the optional locking clip for additional mechanical retention when needed.

6. Connection becomes immediately load-bearing once engaged.
