WALCO V80 VK Slotted Hole Prefab Wall Connector

The WALCO V80 VK Slotted Hole Prefab Wall Connector is a concealed, load-bearing connection system designed for fast and accurate joining of prefabricated timber walls, CLT wall panels, and main beams. This version uses the VK screwed collar bolt in combination with a slotted-hole bracket, providing enhanced installation tolerance and improved on-site adjustability.

The connector set includes a hot-dip galvanized steel bracket shaped in a wide V-form to receive the collar bolt during assembly. The collar bolt is fixed directly into the timber element (with or without an interlayer). Once positioned, the wall element simply slides into the bracket in a dovetail-like engagement. The slotted-hole version allows ±15 mm height adjustment and ±2 mm width correction for on-site tolerances, producing a stable, concealed, and repeatable wall-to-wall connection.

• Mount the Collar Bolt (VK Screw):

  • Pre-drill the timber element as required.

  • Drive the VK collar bolt and countersunk screw into the wall stud or CLT panel.

• Prepare the Bracket Location:

  • Fix the V80 slotted-hole bracket with two approved screws.

  • If installed over sheathing, shim or recess according to 13 mm or 15 mm thickness requirements.

• Engage the Connection:

  • Align the collar bolt with the V-shaped bracket.

  • Slide the wall element into place; the bracket guides the bolt during engagement.

• Adjust for Tolerances:

  • Use the slotted holes to correct height and width (±15 mm / ±2 mm).

• Final Alignment:

  • Confirm tight seating and verify gap spacing for seals or gaskets.
