Introducing the RICON® S mass timber connector – a pre-engineered solution designed for seamless and rapid beam joining. This innovative connector comprises two identical plates featuring bolts that interlock in a dovetail-style configuration. Installation is a breeze, thanks to self-tapping structural screws applied perpendicularly to the plate. For added convenience, KNAPP® offers Routing Jigs compatible with handheld routers.

Enhance the connector’s functionality with an optional Locking clip, ensuring a secure latch. Versatile in application, RICON® S effortlessly connects timber to timber, steel, and concrete. Choose between fully concealed or visible installation, with two available versions: Welded Collar Bolt (VS) and Screwed Collar Bolt (VK).

Description


The pre-engineered RICON® S mass timber connector is made of galvanized steel and allows a smooth and fast joining of beams. It consists of two identical connector plates with bolts that hook into each other in a dovetail-like manner with only 35mm (1 1/2″) of travel required to engage.  Simple installation possible with self-tapping structural screws perpendicular to the plate. When cutting with handheld router KNAPP® also offers Routing Jigs. An optional Locking clip can be installed to latch the connector. RICON® S connects timber to timber, to steel, and to concrete. The connectors can be installed fully concealed or visible and are available in two versions. With a Welded Collar Bolt (VS), and Screwed Collar Bold (VK). Both versions are available in four sizes: 140/60, 200/60, 200/80, 290/80. An additional size called RICON® S VS XL 390/80 is available with the VS version.

*Note that the numbers in the name of each RICON® S size indicate the size of the connector in millimeter. I.e. RICON® S  200/80 is 200 mm long by 80 mm wide.
